The new joint Samples Toni Braxton on New Single ‘Last Last’
On the 13th of May 2022 Burna Boy released a single tittled ‘Last Last‘ the single will also appear on Burna Boys new album ‘Love Damani’ which is the follow-up to the Grammy-winning Twice as Tall set to for his 31st birthday which would be July 2, but representatives for the artist say that the LP does not currently have a firm release date.
The Song samples Toni Braxton‘s 2000 single ‘He Wasn’t Man Enough’ and is produced by Chopstix.
The ‘Last Last’ video was directed by Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu AKA Burna Boy himself – and it features his house, his cars, his friends, his Igbo referencing his tribe, and Sha-yo – a Yoruba name which means “to be happy” which could also mean alcohol in Nigeria.
The star has been sharing a steady string of new singles over the past year. He debuted the new single during his recent show at Madison Square Garden in New York. He became the first Nigerian artist to headline a concert at the 20,000-capacity arena.
In a recent Billboard feature Burna Boy said the following of the new Record – “That’s how I like to sign all my letters, because I didn’t know the proper [signoff],” “It’s a bit personal [because] it’s bringing you into my head on my birthday — when you turn 31 and ain’t got no kids, everything is going good and bad at the same time. You reflect and then you get as lit as possible. Then you sleep and wake up and reflect again. I’m reflecting on everything — what I’m doing and what’s happening where I’m from. Where I’m from is a part of where I’m going.”
