Tesla has developed overall humanoid software architecture for its robot

Elon Musk has now said on twitter that he wants to start production of the humanoid robot by 2023 which is much faster than anyone anticipated.

The bot has been designed to take over unsafe, boring or repetitive tasks from humans. tesla has actively ramped up hiring for the project. one job description is called motion planning & navigation, tesla bot.

Elon Musk talked about the robot again at the Cyber Rodeo event in Texas, this time under the Optimus Sub-Prime nickname. He explained the priority he has given the project, stating it will be ready for production in 2023.

Job description: “tesla is on a path to build humanoid bi-pedal robots at scale to automate repetitive and boring tasks for manufacturing/logistics. core to the tesla bot, the motion planning stack presents a unique opportunity to work on state-of-the-art algorithms for motion planning and navigation culminating in their deployment to real-world production applications. our motion planning software engineers develop and own this stack from inception to deployment.”

Currently, Tesla hasn’t unveiled a working prototype of the robot, and it is not clear at what stage the development is at. The robot shown at the Cyber Rodeo event features the same proportions as humans: it is 5-foot-8 (172 cm) tall, 125 pounds (56 kg) heavy. This allows it to operate in an environment made by humans, for humans.
