Benson Kipruto, 30, pulled away from a large men’s pack on the Brookline flats to win going away in 2:09:51. Kipruto, who was 10th here in 2019, was 46 seconds ahead of Ethiopian former champion Lemi Berhanu, who was followed by countrymen Jemal Yimer and Tsedat Ayana.

Diana Kipyogei led a parade of Kenyan women across the finish line in Monday morning’s 125th Boston Marathon, winning her major marathon debut by 24 seconds over former champion Edna Kiplagat.

Kipyogei won in 2 hours, 24 minutes, and 45 seconds with countrywomen Mary Ngugi and Monicah Ngige placing third and fourth.
