Kanye West finally releases new album Donda – and reinstates Jay-Z after fan uproar
Donda is the tenth studio album by Kanye West. The album was released on August 29, 2021, through GOOD Music, and was distributed by Def Jam Recordings. The album is named after West’s late mother, Donda West.
The 27-track album, its cover art a black square, is 108 minutes long and available for streaming on services including Apple Music, Spotify, and Tidal.

Donda features guest vocalists and rappers like the Weeknd and Lil Baby (“Hurricane”), Travis Scott and Baby Keem (“Praise God”), Young Thug (“Remote Control”), the late Pop Smoke (“Tell the Vision”), Jay Electronica and the Lox (“Jesus Lord”), Kid Cudi (“Moon”), Roddy Ricch (“Pure Souls”), and Ariana Grande (“Donda”).
During the album’s listening parties, guest appearances were revealed including Syleena Johnson, Pusha T, The World Famous Tony Williams, Don Toliver, Lil Baby, The Weeknd, Rooga, Baby Keem, Travis Scott, Lil Yachty, Playboi Carti, Lil Durk, Vory, Fivio Foreign, Kid Cudi, Young Thug, 070 Shake, Chris Brown, Roddy Ricch, Conway the Machine, KayCyy, Westside Gunn, Jadakiss, Jay Electronica, Sheek Louch, Styles P, Pop Smoke, Francis and the Lights, DaBaby, Marilyn Manson, Jay-Z, and the Sunday Service Choir.
The album’s release follows three listening parties held in July and August, where thousands of fans in Atlanta and Chicago were granted early listens to versions of the record.

The current streaming version of Donda reinstates Jay-Z’s appearance.
Donda West was an English professor at Chicago State University, but died in 2007 at the age of 58 of cosmetic surgery complications.
The third listening party, held two days ago in Chicago, saw West bring out Kim Kardashian West on stage as she wore a Balenciaga wedding dress during the track “No Child Left Behind” – months after she filed for divorce from the rapper.
Following the appearance of the new single “No Child Left Behind” in an Olympics-themed Beats ad, Donda was initially scheduled for a July 23rd release, then pushed to August 6th, then delayed August-something before its arrival on August 29th; Kanye’s longtime manager Abou “Bu” Thiam promised on social media that the album would finally be released following the Donda listening event at Soldier Field in West’s native Chicago.
